Ceramic Coatings in Cedar Rapids

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that cures into a hard layer bonded to your clear coat. It doesn't make paint scratch-proof — nothing does. What it does is make the surface slicker and far easier to clean, resist UV fade and chemical etching, and hold water beading for years instead of weeks. Every coating we install includes a polish step first, so the paint is corrected before it gets sealed under the coating.

The process

What actually happens

  1. Decontamination

Chemical and mechanical decon. The paint has to be surgically clean before anything bonds to it.

  2. Quick polish step

Every coating includes a polish before the coating goes on. The coating locks in whatever the paint looks like that day, so it gets corrected first — not sealed in.

  3. Paint correction

Defects get removed now, because the coating will seal them in for years if they don't.

  4. Panel wipe

Every panel is stripped of polishing oils with a dedicated prep solution. Skip this and the coating won't bond.

  5. Coating application

Applied panel by panel in a controlled environment, leveled by hand within a specific flash window.

  6. Cure time

The coating needs to cure before the car goes back out. This is why coatings are an overnight drop-off.

Before you book: Coatings are only as good as the prep underneath them. A coating locks in whatever the paint looks like the day it goes on — so correction almost always comes first. Book a free inspection and we'll tell you what your paint needs before you pay for a coating.
